No.21851

While I'm still trying to get in touch with her spouse, I feel I should delay no further the sad announcement that

Ana, known here as Phyis, has passed away on 27 March, 2018.

Ana mentioned to friends and in messages here that she was struggling with her health, she passed away at home with her wife.

Ana took over running Yuriproject in 2013 with technical expertise and a very active role in scanlating manga. In my communications with her we talked mostly about hobbies and it was obvious she was a person who was quick to become deeply passionate in her interests in a variety of areas. She was someone who cared for the people that came to rely on her and worked hard even if only few would notice.

Jesus. This is awful

I wish I'd known how bad it was

My brain's a mush after reading this and I can't think of anything else to say but this:

Thank you for everything Phyis.

>> No.21854

If you do get ahold of her, please tell her the community is here for her if there's anything we can realistically help with. Is there anything we could do to help?

I didn't know her personally (nor did I have any interaction with her that I'm aware of), but her work through Yuri Project has brought much joy to my life. I don't know how much does words from an anonymous /u/ser mean, but I would like to offer my condolences to her wife and friends.

Phyis was a true hero in the yuri community and her work wouldn't be forgotten. May her family, wife, and friends find peace and that she had died in happiness.

Thank you for letting us know, Procyon. We owe so much to her. I was hoping since she mostly retired from YP for things not to be too bad for her. She'll be greatly missed from now even more. May her legacy live on together with her memory.

(Sorry if these aren't the most appropriate words. I didn't know her well, other than through her efforts, but the news really shook me still very much.

It also brings to mind someone else we had to miss for quite a while, without knowing about the reasons, Sachiko from Kawaii Scans. With her I was in contact but while I had some suspicions, I never tried to pry into whether they were the same person or different people.)

I'm very slow in noticing this, but I just wanted to chime in as well in saying that I'm so sorry to hear it, and that she definitely has been noticed. I know we have only experienced a very, very small part of her legacy, but it is one even so and we'll carry it on. Thanks for letting us know.

a bit late and i dont know anything about her at all except from the countless works i read with her name in the credit pages.
but when i say this, it really is from my heart that the news sadden me, and i offer my deepest condolonces for the loved one left behind.

I pray that her love is now in a much better land ... free of pain and sadness. She is still here in your heart and with your spirit.

>> No.22133

Obviously, I didn't know her, I'm just one of the few thousand people who got so much joy from her work, even if I wasn't aware. Now that I am, I hope her, her spouse and her family the best. Haha it's super cheesy to say but Phyis will live on through the site. I'm sure there are countless stories I've read that she's scanned so kudos.

RIP Phyis,

f
